The EU Charter of Fundamental Rights stands as a cornerstone for dignity, equality, and freedom across Europe.
Article 21 prohibits discrimination based on sex, sexual orientation, and other characteristics, while Article 24 safeguards children’s rights — including their right to be heard and taken seriously in all matters that affect them.
Through the Proud Ambassadors project, these principles are not just defended on paper — they are transformed into real, everyday institutional practices, especially for LGBTQIA+ youth who continue to face discrimination, exclusion, and barriers to support.
Our policy recommendations call for:
- Inclusive education and safe learning environments
- Accessible and affirming mental health services
- Strong anti-discrimination mechanisms
- Youth participation in decision-making processes
Co-funded by Erasmus+, Proud Ambassadors brings together partners from Sweden, Greece, Belgium, Italy, and Slovenia to ensure that the rights of LGBTQIA+ young people are upheld, protected, and lived.
Equality is not optional. Dignity is not negotiable. Youth voices matter.
