Regional Development Agency Berat, Albania

Biography

The Regional Development Agency of Albania , well-known as RDAB, established as foundation from the Year 2000 as an initiative of UNDP project from 1996, promotes development of small and medium-sized enterprises by building the capacity of civil society & implementing programs targeting economic and cultural development. The RDA of Berat performs a variety of tasks ranging from the management of customized training programs and the development of advanced business plans & grant scheme for its clients, to publications, studies and research, as well as workshops that serve its mission improving the social economic development of the region.  

Current mission of RDA Berat are:

  1. To encourage the economic development and the SME-sector in Albania
  2. Develop the Civil Society, a strong local democracy and to promote good governance
  3. Contribute to National’s Strategy for Jobs and Growth.

 

 There are three main areas where RDAB focuses  in terms of supported target group.

  • Training of unemployed people, SME-s, especially the young generation and women in such main sectors: Tourism; Agribusiness and SME-s.
  • facilitating trainees  on job opportunities or  self-employed,
  • supporting & coaching/monitoring trainees in collaboration with all interested actors

RDA  Berat  works as subcontractor, with well known international organizations such as GIZ Albania, USAID,UNDP, IOM, UNICEF, different Foreign Embassies and different Albanian Institutions, as Ministry of Finance, AKPA etc, in three main sectors: SME-s, Tourism  and Agribusiness.

Referring the statistics , RDAB, counts an average of 100 trainees/per year,  where about 60% are employed, 35% self-employed. Every achievement is dedicated  a closely collaboration with all actors active in the region , including Business sector, local power and other NGO, active in Albania, that RDAB has.

Our most achievements are specified in:

  • Support of regional institutions, in preparation of advanced business plan &grant scheme, market research, such as IPARD, COSOLVE,EU for innovation, various Start ups, VET sector etc.

As well as, the implementation of several international projects , in social-economic development, such as annual organization of carnivals event  in Berat region , annual training in digitalization, training in personal development ,training in skills for job, training in hospitality, etc,  bringing the elements of  life’s standardization Albania’s entry  in EU
